The story of FNF Skincrawler begins during the events ofSonic 3 & Knuckles, but in a twisted alternate reality. While fighting Dr. Robotnik alone at Angel Island, Sonic is dealt a critical blow and plummets into the depths below. It is here that theGrimeware virusseizes its opportunity.

Consuming Sonic from within, the virus leaves behind nothing but a hollow shell — a perfect vessel for Grimeware to take control. This malevolent being doesn’t just seek survival; it hungers for more victims, using cruel and twisted methods to grow its grotesque hivemind. As time passes and Sonic vanishes without a trace, his friends begin to search the island, unaware of the horror that awaits them.
